Explain why Hope is a more fitting name than Tulip. Summarize the ways in which Hope tries to live up to her name. If you had to choose a new name that better reflected your personality, what would you choose and why?
Hope is a better fitting name than Tulip because it has such great meaning. Hope tries to live up to her name in many ways. The first is to keep a note card in her pocket; the second was to look up the definition in the dictionary. She also looked up synonyms in a thesaurus and wore a clown nose when people were sad/mad. If I chose a name that reflected my personality, I would choose Emily because it means “to strive or excel”. To me Emily is fitting because I like to strive to excel so that I am the best that I can be.
Hope is a more fitting name than Tulip because it inspires people to have hope, and to be positive. Hope lives up to her name by making people laugh, and enjoy the good things in life. For example, one day in the diner they are having a lunch rush. Everyone is stressed so, Braverman gave Hope a clown nose to wear around the diner to make everyone laugh and be less stressful. If I had to choose a name to fit my personality it would be Abigail because the name means gives joy. The name fits me because I'm always trying to make people laugh and have a better day.
I think that Hope is a more fitting name than Tulip because hope is more meaningful. Hope is very strong and can change the way people act. Hope lives up to her name in many ways. One way is that she knows the meaning of her name by looking it up in the dictionary and having it put a positive effect on people. Also she writes "hope was here" in places that are special to her. If I had a name that's meaning fit me it would be Amy because it means to be loving and positive.
I think Hope is a more fitting name for her because she changed peoples ways many times. Tulip is also a nice name because when you think of the name Tulip it brings forth positive thoughts but Hope is something that everyone needs at some point. Hope tries to live up to the meaning of her name by just trying to think on the positive side and brighten up people. If I picked a name I would pick Reilly because it means courageous and valiant. I like that name because I believe in life it wouldn't be as fun if we weren't courageous.
I believe Hope is a more fitting name because she brought hope everywhere she went and brightened everyone's days. Tulip is an okay name, but didn't fit her as well as Hope does. Hope lives up to her name by helping people to enjoy life. For example, she knew as soon as the big guy with a long face slid into his seat that he was there to eat and get out. Still, she took a risk and recommended the cheddar burger with grilled onions and mushrooms on pumpernickel with a malt even though he already ordered a BLT and black coffee. But, her risk pays off because he starts loosening up and starts smiling. If I picked a name to better reflect my personality, it would be Faith, because it means belief and confidence. I really like that name because it's a reminder to both me and the people around me to open up, and let some people in to really get to know you.
Hope is a more fitting name than Tulip because hope basically means a feeling of expectation and a desire for a certain thing to happen. It’s almost like setting a goal and following up. This name fits Hope because she always gives someone a reason to be happy and can always put a smile on somebody’s face. Tulip on the other hand is obviously a flower but it is considered a “bold” flower. Hope isn’t bold but she is very laid back and relaxed. She doesn’t have to prove a point to be content with herself. Hope lived up to her name in many ways including keeping a scrapbook of the “perfect dad.” She had plenty of hope that someday she would locate her actual dad or her “perfect dad.” Not only that but she puts a smile on everyones face. For example in the diner Braverman gave her a red clown nose to wear to liven everyones mood in the diner. If I were to have a different name it would be promise. It may sound weird but by promising is almost like creating a bond between you and the “promisee” and guaranteeing that they can count on you to get something done. I would pick this name because I like to get things done when I promise someone something and I don’t like leaving a job unfinished.
Hope is a more fitting name than Tulip because it means something to Hope. In the book Hope states that " Hope is just about the best thing a person can have ". Hope tries to live up to her name by writing Hope Yancey on a card and carrying it with her for a month and she tried to be cheerful and positive everywhere she went. If I were to change my name, I would probably change it to Jacey because it means happiness.
Hope is a much better name than Tulip because it has a much better meaning than Tulip. It gives Hope a big responsibility to bring it to the people in her life, and herself. Tulip isn't the best name for Hope because it just doesn't seem right for a person to have that name. She hated when she got called by the teacher in school, and kids teased her for having that name. Hope lives up to her name by being more optimistic about bad things in her life and other people's lives, and sharing that optimism with those people. She shows that she has hope about her real father coming to her by keeping a book that shows all of her memories just to show her father. She gave hope to others frequently, such as when she gave hope to everyone in the diner the day after learning G.T. was not on the ballot, or when she gave hope to G.T. to pull through his campaign even though he was sick. I think a better name for me would be Humility, because it means humble and modest, which I try to be.
In my opinion Hope suites Hope's personality way better than Tulip does. I say this because Tulip represents a rather fragile and dainty flower where the name Hope is tough and can stand through anything even when your having a bad day or when your feeling blue. For example when Hope left Brooklyn she thought that Wisconsin was going to be awful and she was worried that she might not make new friends or companions and she still had hope. So when she entered Welcome Stairways she instantly knew that Flo will be a friend. If I had to choose a name to better fit my personality would choose "Mirth" which means joy and expressed in laughter. I choose this name because when I am with someone I often try to cheer them up or to make them laugh when they are feeling down.
I think Hope is a more fitting name than Tulip for because it seems as if Hope strives for greatness and never gives up. I think Tulip doesn't fit Hope because Tulips die and Hope lives on forever. Hope has moved around so much, I think her name has inspired her to keep hoping that things will get better. Going from Brooklyn to a small town in Wisconsin is a huge move. Hope realized that she won't have any friends and it will be hard but what she does have is hope. I think a good name for me would be Guy because it means strong warrior. I like that because I fight for what I believe is right.
I think hope is a more fitting name than Tulip for her because she has a great amount of spirit in her. Since she has moved to Wisconsin, she has told stories and made really great friends with other people. Plus, Tulip is a fragile flower that really has no other meaning. Her name fits her personality in her own way, because when she was going to move, she was really scared of facing new challenges, and didn't want to abandon all of the people that she knew. I wouldn't want to change my name because, even though "Ben" doesn't have a unique meaning like "Hope" does, I still like it enough to keep it.
The name Tulip might have had meaning to Hope's mom, but Hope wanted something more meaningful to her. She lives up to her name by bringing a special kind of light to every place she works or visits. Hope always is challenging people to try something new or helping them with a tough time they are going through by being herself. She challenged the littlest things like getting a man to try a cheddar burger with onions and a malt rather than a BLT and plain black coffee to getting G.T.'s political party to start reaching out to different people who might not vote for him. But, just like Hope, if I had to choose something more meaningful for my name, I would choose Sunny because it means happy and bright, like I always am. I guess Hope and I had the same idea of spreading the a little bit of joy into everyone's day.
I think that Hope is a more fitting name than Tulip because Hope lives up to her name better then she would've if she were still named Tulip. I also think that Hope's name fits her better than Tulip because Hope is her name, not just some flower name her mother picked for her. I think that Hope lives up to her name by spreading hope around the people around her. She always tries to help others, whether it's making somebody's day at the welcome stairways, or if it's helping someone become mayor. If I had to choose a new name, I probably wouldn't know what to change it to because I'd probably have about 20 ideas at least.
Hope fits Hope's personality much better than Tulip for many reasons. Tulips are fragile and weak, but hope is strong and is always there even when it seems like it's not. Hope tries to inspire people and make people happy and feel hope. If I had to change my name I would change it to Mark because it means to leave an impression or trace and I feel that I leave a trace where ever I go.
Hope fits Hope's personality better than Tulip for many reasons. She lives up to the name Hope because she inspires people and gives them hope. The name Tulip is just a fragile flower which Hope is the opposite of. Hope always tries to help people. If I chose a new name I wouldn't be able to think of one that would suit me.
Hope is a more fitting name than Tulip because it has much more meaning. It allows Hope to try to live up to her name. Before Hope decided completely on her name she wrote Hope Yancey on a card and carried it around for a month to make sure she was up to that name. One of the things she does to live up to her name is looking up her name in a thesaurus. She looks at the words that have the same sort of meaning as the word hope and uses them as inspiration to be the best that she can be. Hope also tries to get to know her customers. When she is serving a person who tends to get the same meal every time they come into the Welcome Stairways diner, she convinces them to try something new. If I were going to chose a different name I would pick Faith. Faith would be a good name because it means to put trust into something and I want everyone to be able to put their trust in me.
Hope is a way better fitting name than Tulip. Hope could not adapt to the name Tulip, so on her 12th birthday she changed her name to Hope. People expect more from a girl with a name of Hope; they expect someone positive and cheerful. Hope Yancey lives up to her name in many ways throughout the book. Hope works as a waitress at the Welcome Stairways, she constantly is lifting spirits up with the way she can turn the diner around with her strong people skills. Hope helps with G.T Stoop's candidacy for mayor even though she can't vote. She helps portray that, because G.T. who is battling cancer and an underdog in the mayor campaign, have a little "Hope" in succeeding. Now, if I were to choose a new name for me that better reflected my personality it would be Gale, because it means lively which suits me well.
Hoper is a better fitting name than Tulip because is has so much more meaning. Hope tries to live up to her name in many ways. She carries a card with her name on it to make sure the name fits. She looks it up in a dictionary and a thesaurus to find its meaning. She also campaigns for G.T. whenever she can ever though she can't vote for him. Hope gives Lou Ellen hope that Anastasia is going to be okay even though she isn't maturing fast enough. She does whatever she can to make people happy at Welcome Stairways. She always tries to be the best she can be. If I had to change my name, I don't know what would fit my personality.
A name that fits better for her is Hope because she is always striving to help others and to bring Hope into people's lives. She needs to remember her what her name means because it is a big name to live up to. Hope does this by looking it up in a thesaurus and when ever she leaves a place she has lived, she writes "Hope was here" in some random spot. If I could name myself something to match my personality, it would be Kaydence. Kaydence means musical and music is my life so I thought that would fit me.
Hope is a better fitting name then tulip for many reasons. Hope is obviously a very strong word and that gives Hope a big responsibility in living up to that name. She shows hope in many ways such as helping Ananstasia by helping her mature as a baby. Also, she shows hope of G.T. winning the election by helping and supporting him throughout the campaign. Before changing her name from Tulip to Hope, she tried her new name on for a month and that was a good idea because her new name is way better. If I were to change my name I would not know what to change it to because I like the name I have now.
Hope is a much more fitting name than Tulip because Hope's personality fits the name Hope better than the name Tulip. The name Tulip doesn't describe an overall person as well as the name Hope it seems. Hope lives up to her name when she helps G.T. win an underdog election, she teaches Anastasia to hold her bottle and in many other ways. If I had to choose a name for myself I would stick with Joseph. Joseph means "he will add" and I hope I add something on every team, in every place and with everyone I meet.
Hope is a more fitting name than Tulip because the name Hope describes how Hope is better than Tulip ever could. First of all Tulip is just a plant and does not really mean anything. Hope's newer name describes how she affects the mood of everything around her. Like when she left New York for Wisconsin, she didn't like it but she did not give up hope. Also when G.T. was almost off the ballot Hope gave everyone hope and G.T had more time to get signatures. I would keep my name because it means buddy, and I like that.
Hope is a more fitting name because she inspires it with her waitressing and the campaign. Tulip doesn't work because she's a strong willed person, not a flower. And if I had to choose a new name for myself, it would be.......ummm...probably... I know: CAPTAIN INDECISIVE!... or maybe that doesn't work, Can you come back to me later?
I believe that ‘Hope’ is a more fitting name for her than ‘Tulip’, because it has a more meaningful aspect. She said in the book herself that, “Her name motivates her to be a better person,” and “She wants to live up to her name.” Tulip does not require any effort, it is only an object. If I were to pick a name for myself, I would pick a descriptive trait that I wish I had, or wish I had more of; kind of like Hope did. I think Hope has a great method going for her, because without her name, she would not have been the same person she turned out to be, and that is what I would hope to accomplish as well.
I think that "Hope" is a more fitting name then Tulip because it fits her personality. To me a Tulip is a short lived flower that only blooms in the spring. Hope is everlasting and brings joy and second chances. To summarize one way which Hope lives up to her name is that she is a very positive person with a positive outlook on life even though things don's always go well for her and Aunt Addie. If I were to pick a new name i have no clue what it would be so i will just stay with the name Victor.
I think Hope is a better name than Tulip because Hope means something and Tulip doesn't. Tulip won't change a persons attitude, but Hope might. If someone was sad and the name gave them hope, they would be happy. Hope is a waitress, she gives the customer food, and if they were sad, hope. She herself also has hope for herself. If I had to choose a new name I would stay with Iain even though it has no meaning, I like it.
I think Hope is a better name than Tulip because, when her name is Hope, it motivates her and it also fits her personality. When her name was Tulip, she got teased about her name. Hope gives people confidence that everything is going to be okay. Tulip to me means just a flower that only blooms in the spring. Hope is a better name for her because she is positive about things and not thinking about the bad things that could happen. If I had to change my name, I would stay with Will, even though it means nothing, I wouldn't change it.
I think the reason Hope was a better name for her than Tulip was because hope means something. Hope brings her dictionary and thesaurus around to reminder what her name means. I think that changing her name makes Hope remember to be kind and try to be as hopeful as possible throughout the book. If I had to change my name, I would change it to be Charity. I would choose this name because it would remind me to help people and not keep the entire world revolved around myself! Although, if I had a choice, I would keep my name, Anna, because it means grace.
I think Hope is a better name than Tulip because Hope means something more than just the flower Tulip. Hope carries a thesauruses with her and that's how she found what she really wants her name to be. She saw the word Hope and the meaning stood out to her, so she decided that that's what she would like her new name to be. She uses her name in many different ways such as how she always has hope that her father might come and find her someday. Also, she uses hope when she believed that G.T. will be able to win the election as mayor even when he has leukemia. If I had to change my name, I wouldn't change it because Sarah means that I can be independent and have confidence with myself which I think is true.
I think Hope is a better name than Tulip because Hope is more creative and fitting for her character. She tries to live up to her name by making the people around her feel good and hopeful. Tulip is vague and it doesn't fit her personality. A tulip just sits in one spot while hope is all around us and is everywhere we go. That's the type of person she is. When Hope left every town that she lived in she would carve 'Hope was here' in the wood or in her old restaurant where she used to work. Every town Hope moved to she would take a dictionary from that town and write the meaning of hope into her journal. When Hope served people in the restaurant she would ask them if they wanted something new and unusual and it was usually something they would never think of trying. Hope also put faith into people by encouraging them to pray that G.T. would recover from his leukemia and beat the powerful evil Eli Milestone for mayor. If I changed my name, I would change it to Doug because Doug sounds like a person that is curious and determined to find answers.
For the character Hope, I believe that names fits her personality and her lifestyle better then Tulip. Just as she said in the book the word hope means "Faith, trust, confidence, and assurance." Those words are very fitting for who Hope is, and who she tries her hardest to be pictured as. Even though a Tulip is very pretty and sometimes brings people happiness when they see it, tulips do eventually wilt and die losing their beauty. Hope is always there you can lose some of your hope in a situation but, there is always hope, there is always something for you to cling on to and hold on tight to. Hope in the book does everything she can to stay confident and brave in situations. Even when there not exactly in her favor. She is also very trust worthy, in the sense that people seem very open to talking to her and being able to share things with her about their lives. If I could change my name it would be Paris, for many different reason. I want to go there very badly and paris is very unique, extravagant and adventures.
I think Hope fits her better than Tulip because it explains her personality. The name Tulip doesn't have as good of a meaning to her than hope. She tries to share hope around to other people to live up to her name. It also helps her to keep going and to have Hope in her life. If I had to change my name I would change it to Valerie because it means "strong".
Hope is more fitting for her because it has more meaning. Hope is very srtong young woman and she shows how strong she is emotionally during the book. She overcomes challenges easily and never gives up on people. Tulip didn't fit who she was, she didn't change her name to Hope not to live up to it. who wants to live up to a name like Tulip? I would change my name to "Rayen" because it means flower, I am a flower becasue no matter what I am always blooming.
I think that hope is a more fitting name then Tulip because hope just makes more sense for her personality. She lives up to her name by making people laugh and enjoy life. For example the dinner is going crazy and braverman gives her a clown noes to have her wear it around and make people laugh. If I had tthe choice to change my name I would't, but if i had to I would change it to Geno because in hockey it means goal.
In my judgment, I think that the name Hope is a more fitting name for her in many reasons. Reasons such as, the word hope means to cherish a desire with expectation of fulfillment; now in my point of view, this explains Hope in every single way. Hope is a better fitting name than Tulip because, Hope is always blooming, sharing love, and helping people in many ways, while a name such as Tulip gives less judgment to her personality and the flower its self only blooms in the spring, giving her name less judgment than she deserves. By having the name Hope, you definitely have to carry out the name. She does this by, being an insightful, hardworking, generous, and witty waitress. If I were to choose a different name to reflect my personality I would choose Faith. The reason why I would choose the name Faith is because, faith symbols honesty, believe and truth; things that I like to represent.
Hope is a better name than Tulip by far. Hope is a more meaningful name than Tulip. Tulips are just plain old flowers and hope is something that can keep you going and it describes her a lot better than plain old "Tulip". Hope hates it when the teacher calls on her for things and when kids make fun of her for her name, but Hope is always looking on the positive side of things. Hope is also always trying to help people and make them happy and give them hope. I wouldn't change my name at all because I like the way it is right now.
I believe that Hope is a better name than Tulip, because it gives her a special meaning. By being named Hope she carries the responsibility of bringing hope to everyone she meets. If I had to change my name to something better reflecting my personality, I would choose the name Sunshine. This is because the name Sunshine fits my personality along with giving me a special meaning in life, such as the name Hope. I think everyone should have a special meaning in life, and changing my name to something special, would only express this meaning.
Tulip was never a fitting a name for Hope because, it describes her personality perfectly like how she stays hopeful even in the worst circumstances. Hope stays hopeful for G.T. to win the election to be mayor even when she cant vote herself for G.T. she goes and helps promote G.T. for mayor. By keeping a good attitude Hope lives up to her name a little more every day. If I had to change my name to something meaningful to me I would choose Reese because it means enthusiastic and eager which practically describes me in two words.
I think, even though Hope isn't that much of a step up from Tulip, at least it has some signifigant meaning to her. Her name gives her a responsibility to live up to that name, It gives her something to strive for. If I was forced to change my name to something more fitting, I guess I would choose Luke, because it means laid back, and I like to think of myself as calm and thoughtful.
I believe that Hope is a better name than Tulip because it has a meaning and it is different from other people’s names. I also think that she has a name to live up to with the name Hope and she does it well by making people around her comfortable and enjoy the time they spend with her. The clown nose was a perfect example of that. Everyone can relate to the name Hope, whether it was a time when they needed some but didn’t have any or when they had a lot of hope. Hope also spreads hope around the town during the mayor election. If I were to change my name, I would like to be called Charles because I know many good people with the name Charles, although, I like my name the most because I don’t know many other Matthews and I think it is a unique name.
I think that the strong name Hope is a more fitting name for her than the name Tulip because even though a name like Hope is a lot to live up to, she can surely take it on. In the book, on page 7, Hope states that the name Hope is a lot to live up to, and in the book there are many ways that Hope tried to live up to her name. Such as when Hope helped G.T. win the election. If I had to choose a new name that better reflected my personality, I would choose the name Star. I would choose the outstanding name Star because I think it describes everything about me. If you know me I am short and straight to the point when I speak, and this represents that there are only four letters in the name Star.
I think that Hope is a more fitting name than Tulip because Hope gives something people can believe in and something that can help make people want to keep fighting whereas Tulip is a type of flower. Even though Hope is a name that is hard to live up to she is the one person that would probably be able to handle that responsibility. Hope lives up to her name by helping G.T. with his campaign. She doesn't give up no matter what and helps G.T. fight til the finish and helps him win the election. She gave herself and the people around her the hope to keep going. If I had the chance to change my name I don't think I would because even though Makenzie is a pretty popular name and even though I don't know what my name means I think it suits me no matter what.
I think Hope is more fitting than Tulip because you feel you can trust them better. Hope lives up to her name in lots of ways. One is that before she got her name she walked around with a note card in her pocket that said "Hope Yancey". During that month she tried to be hopeful and give people hope. Also after she got her name she keeps her hopes up by imagining her dad and what he would be like. Also she makes herself believe she will meet him one day. IF I were to choose a different name my name would be "Dietrich" which means leader of the people. I would choose that name because when ever I'm doing a group project I like to be able to take control/be in charge of what happens.
I think Hope is a much more suiting name than Tulip because it is a very meaningful and thoughtful name. Hope is a very positive and strong word. Hope stands up to her name in many wonderful ways. One is she always has a smile on her face and is happy. She also always almost leaves a big smile on their faces. If i had to pick one name it would be "Cosmo" which means strong and brave. I like this name because I love challenges to take on.
I think that Hope is a more fitting name than Tulip because hope is a word that means something to people. There are people in world who survive on hope alone. Tulip is only the name of a flower. Hope tries to live up to her name by looking up her name in the dictionary and keeping that meaning in her head. She also likes to try and change peoples lives through food. If i were to pick a new name it would be Violet because it means shy. I'm usually quiet and tend to not talk very much.
Hope is a more fitting name than Tulip because it is more meaningful. Hope tries to live up to her name by doing good for others and being hopeful for the good things in life. She is hopeful for the restaurant to do well, she is hopeful for G.T to win the election, and she is hopeful for people to realize that Mayor Millstone is dishonest. Not only does she hope, but she contributes to society and gets involved to try to make a difference. If I could choose a name that fits me better I would pick Tucker because it means strong but sensitive.
I think that Hope is a more meaningful name than Tulip because it means something to her. Hope is a very strong and positive name, kind of like Hopes attitude. I also think that hope is more inspiring than Tulip because it is more sentimental.
I think Hope is more fitting for her because it is more meaningful and it fits her personality and who she is more. Hope lives up to her name by always bieng happy and doing whatever she can to make other people happy. If I were to pick a new name I don't think I would I like the name that I have now.
I think Hope is a more meaningful name for her because it tells who she is. She encourages people and always tries to have a positive attitude. Tulip wasn't right for her because her mom thought it was right for her. On page 7 it says that "Hope is just about the best thing a person can have". She wanted her name to express who she is and she wanted people to think that hope is cheerful and positive just like her. She was positive and helpful with G.T's election. I wouldn't really change my name but if I had to it would be my Chinese name Chang Yi Wan because it shows a little bit of where I was from.
Hope is a more meaningful name than Tulip because she chose it, and it means something to her. Hope tries to live up to her name by keeping a card with her name on it in her pocket. Hope also looks up her name in the thesaurus, and the dictionary. Hope also leaves the phrase 'Hope was here' in places that mean something to her. And if I had to pick a new name for myself it would be Alyssa because it means good humor and I like to make people happy. It also means love, and energetic and optimistic.
I think Hope is a more fitting name than Tulip because it has meaning behind it and is more inspirational. Hope is a strong, confident person and affects the way people think everyday just by being herself and giving hope. Hope tries to live up to her name in many ways such as, always finding the good in things and still having hope in G.T. after he had "lost' the election. Also she gives Lou Ellen hope that Anastasia will be ok in the end. If I had to pick a name for myself I would keep it as Samantha because it means creative, independent, and determined which I think describes me well.
I believe that Hope is a better name than Tulip for her. The word hope means confindence and it fits her like a glove. Hope is outgoing to help people and always wants to give people joy in their life. If I had to pick a name that fits me the best, it would probably still be Katherine. Katherine is a really special name to me because both my parents had a grandmother named Katherine.
I think Hope is more fitting for her because it is more friendly and joyful rather than Tulip witch is not meant for her. Hope lives up to her name because she makes people laugh and enjoy their meal at the diner. Also when people are sad or mad she puts on a red clown nose that Braverman gave her to cheer up people. I would pick the name Brooke because I love the way it sounds and it sort of looks like me. Also it is a chatty and bright name that would be like me.
I think Hope is a more fitting name than tulip because it has meaning. Hope tries to live up to her name by always being hopeful and looking at the hope in situations. She tries to cheer people up like when she wheres a red clown nose or just talks to them and cheers them up. Hope always wants to help and wants everyone to be happy. If had to pick a new name I would pick Isaac because it means laughter.
The name Hope is more fitting than Tulip because of the hope she gives to so many people. Many of the things she does are because she believes in them and gives them hope. For example, Hope keeps a positive attitude throughout the story. She doesn’t let the fact that her mother gave her up get her down or the fact she has moved so much ruin who is she. Hope looks for the best in every person. If I had to choose a different name I would choose Aidan. Aidan means “little fire”. I think this fits my personality because I am the youngest in my family and there is never a dull moment with me around.
I think Hope is more fitting than Tulip, because anyone who knows her has more hope in their lives. Hope used to look in the dictionary and thesaurus to find out what her name really meant. Hope refuses to sink, no matter what happens. Her mother left her when she was born, and her father also left, but she never gave up hope. Lastly, through all the times Hope moved, she made sure to find something to hope for in every place. If I had to choose a different name, I would choose Faith. I would choose Faith, because anyone who knows me could always have faith in what I do.
The name Hope is more fitting than Tulip because she is always cheering people up and giving them hope. Hope always finds a way to look on the bright side of bad situations. An example of her living up to her name is when she walks around with red clown nose even though she is sad on the inside. Another way Hope lives up to her name is when she spreads hope around the town during the election. If I had to change my name I would choose Colin because I know a lot of good people named Colin.
I think Hope is a better fitting name than Tulip, because she is alway giving others hope when they have a lack of it. Hope has a big name to live up to. She got cursed by her mother when she was born with the name "Tulip". She always brings good out of dark times. She keeps up a good attitude and give others hope always. If I had to choose a name I wouldn't choose a new name I would stay with Ryan because, it means king. And its good to be good king.
I think Hope is a more fitting mane than Tulip because hope has more meaning than tulip. She tries to live up to her name by always trying to be happy. She also always tries to give people hope in bad situations. If I had to change my name I couldn't decide because there isn't a name that reflects my personality.
Hope is a more fitting name than Tulip because the name Tulip compared to Hope is non meaningful. With the name Hope you have to live up to the name and always make sure you have hope. The name Hope fits her personality, she's full of happiness, joy, laughter, and love. In every situation she tries to give people hope and makes them think in the end everything will be alright. If I were to choose a different name that reflects who I am I would pick the name Sophie. The meaning of Sophie is wisdom, the capability of being careful and sensible.
I think hope is more fitting then tulip because she brought hope everywhere she went and tried to brighten everyone's day. Tulip is not a bad name it just didn't fit hopes personality. Hope would try to help everyone she could and in the book she states that “hope is just about the best thing a person can have” she lives up to her name by not giving up and being hopeful. If i had to choose a new name i would choose Bridget because it means strong and i am very strong when it comes to things maybe not physically but mentally i am strong.
Hope is a more proper name than Tulip because, no matter what, Hope does not give up. In her job, school, relationships with friends and family and especially in G.T.'s run for mayor, Hope is always positive about any problem that gets in her way. She also lives up to her name by the way she treats Lou's daughter. When she taught her how to hold her bottle by herself, her act of determination really showed that when everyone thought she would need help to eat, she was able too with the help of Hope. She also lives up to her name by the way she stays mentally sane during really busy days at the diner.
"Hope" fits Hope better then Tulip because, Hope just brings happiness, joy, and hope with her everywhere she goes. Hope is always trying to keep her, her friends, and her customers happy. Hope does a good job living up to her name. If I were to change my name, I would probably want to change it to Naomi, meaning, agreeable, in which I try to be as much as possible. Also I just really think its a pretty name.

ReplyDeleteHope is a more fitting name than Tulip because it inspires people to have hope, and to be positive.
DeleteI think that Hope is a more fitting name than Tulip because hope is more meaningful.
ReplyDeleteI think Hope is a more fitting name for her because she changed peoples ways many times.
ReplyDeleteI believe Hope is a more fitting name because she brought hope everywhere she went and brightened everyone's days.
ReplyDeleteHope is a more fitting name than Tulip because hope basically means a feeling of expectation and a desire for a certain thing to happen.
ReplyDeleteHope is a more fitting name than Tulip because it means something to Hope.
ReplyDeleteHope is a much better name than Tulip because it has a much better meaning than Tulip.
ReplyDeleteIn my opinion Hope suites Hope's personality way better than Tulip does.
ReplyDeleteI think Hope is a more fitting name than Tulip for because it seems as if Hope strives for greatness and never gives up.
ReplyDeleteI think hope is a more fitting name than Tulip for her because she has a great amount of spirit in her.
ReplyDeleteThe name Tulip might have had meaning to Hope's mom, but Hope wanted something more meaningful to her.
ReplyDeleteI think that Hope is a more fitting name than Tulip because Hope lives up to her name better then she would've if she were still named Tulip.
ReplyDeleteHope fits Hope's personality much better than Tulip for many reasons. Tulips are fragile and weak, but hope is strong and is always there even when it seems like it's not. Hope tries to inspire people and make people happy and feel hope. If I had to change my name I would change it to Mark because it means to leave an impression or trace and I feel that I leave a trace where ever I go.
ReplyDeleteHope fits Hope's personality better than Tulip for many reasons. She lives up to the name Hope because she inspires people and gives them hope. The name Tulip is just a fragile flower which Hope is the opposite of. Hope always tries to help people. If I chose a new name I wouldn't be able to think of one that would suit me.
ReplyDeleteHope is a more fitting name than Tulip because it has much more meaning.
ReplyDeleteHope is a way better fitting name than Tulip.
ReplyDeleteHoper is a better fitting name than Tulip because is has so much more meaning.
ReplyDeleteA name that fits better for her is Hope because she is always striving to help others and to bring Hope into people's lives.
ReplyDeleteHope is a better fitting name then tulip for many reasons.
ReplyDeleteHope is a much more fitting name than Tulip because Hope's personality fits the name Hope better than the name Tulip.
ReplyDeleteHope is a more fitting name than Tulip because the name Hope describes how Hope is better than Tulip ever could.
ReplyDeleteHope is a more fitting name because she inspires it with her waitressing and the campaign. Tulip doesn't work because she's a strong willed person, not a flower. And if I had to choose a new name for myself, it would be.......ummm...probably... I know: CAPTAIN INDECISIVE!... or maybe that doesn't work, Can you come back to me later?
ReplyDeleteI believe that ‘Hope’ is a more fitting name for her than ‘Tulip’, because it has a more meaningful aspect. She said in the book herself that, “Her name motivates her to be a better person,” and “She wants to live up to her name.” Tulip does not require any effort, it is only an object.
ReplyDeleteIf I were to pick a name for myself, I would pick a descriptive trait that I wish I had, or wish I had more of; kind of like Hope did. I think Hope has a great method going for her, because without her name, she would not have been the same person she turned out to be, and that is what I would hope to accomplish as well.

ReplyDeleteI think Hope is a better name than Tulip because Hope means something and Tulip doesn't.
ReplyDeleteI think Hope is a better name than Tulip because, when her name is Hope, it motivates her and it also fits her personality.
ReplyDeleteI think the reason Hope was a better name for her than Tulip was because hope means something.
ReplyDeleteI think Hope is a better name than Tulip because Hope means something more than just the flower Tulip.
ReplyDeleteI think Hope is a better name than Tulip because Hope is more creative and fitting for her character.
ReplyDeleteFor the character Hope, I believe that names fits her personality and her lifestyle better then Tulip.
ReplyDeleteI think Hope fits her better than Tulip because it explains her personality. The name Tulip doesn't have as good of a meaning to her than hope. She tries to share hope around to other people to live up to her name. It also helps her to keep going and to have Hope in her life. If I had to change my name I would change it to Valerie because it means "strong".
ReplyDeleteHope is more fitting for her because it has more meaning.
ReplyDeleteI think that hope is a more fitting name then Tulip because hope just makes more sense for her personality. She lives up to her name by making people laugh and enjoy life. For example the dinner is going crazy and braverman gives her a clown noes to have her wear it around and make people laugh. If I had tthe choice to change my name I would't, but if i had to I would change it to Geno because in hockey it means goal.
ReplyDeleteIn my judgment, I think that the name Hope is a more fitting name for her in many reasons.
ReplyDeleteHope is a better name than Tulip by far.
ReplyDeleteI believe that Hope is a better name than Tulip, because it gives her a special meaning.
ReplyDeleteTulip was never a fitting a name for Hope because, it describes her personality perfectly like how she stays hopeful even in the worst circumstances.
ReplyDeleteI think, even though Hope isn't that much of a step up from Tulip, at least it has some signifigant meaning to her. Her name gives her a responsibility to live up to that name, It gives her something to strive for. If I was forced to change my name to something more fitting, I guess I would choose Luke, because it means laid back, and I like to think of myself as calm and thoughtful.
ReplyDeleteI believe that Hope is a better name than Tulip because it has a meaning and it is different from other people’s names.
ReplyDeleteI think that the strong name Hope is a more fitting name for her than the name Tulip because even though a name like Hope is a lot to live up to, she can surely take it on.
ReplyDeleteI think that Hope is a more fitting name than Tulip because Hope gives something people can believe in and something that can help make people want to keep fighting whereas Tulip is a type of flower.
ReplyDeleteI think Hope is more fitting than Tulip because you feel you can trust them better.
ReplyDeleteI think Hope is a much more suiting name than Tulip because it is a very meaningful and thoughtful name.
ReplyDeleteI think that Hope is a more fitting name than Tulip because hope is a word that means something to people.
ReplyDeleteHope is a more fitting name than Tulip because it is more meaningful.
ReplyDeleteI think that Hope is a more meaningful name than Tulip because it means something to her. Hope is a very strong and positive name, kind of like Hopes attitude. I also think that hope is more inspiring than Tulip because it is more sentimental.
ReplyDeleteI think Hope is more fitting for her because it is more meaningful and it fits her personality and who she is more. Hope lives up to her name by always bieng happy and doing whatever she can to make other people happy. If I were to pick a new name I don't think I would I like the name that I have now.
ReplyDeleteI think Hope is a more meaningful name for her because it tells who she is.
ReplyDeleteHope is a more meaningful name than Tulip because she chose it, and it means something to her.
ReplyDeleteI think Hope is a more fitting name than Tulip because it has meaning behind it and is more inspirational.
ReplyDeleteI believe that Hope is a better name than Tulip for her. The word hope means confindence and it fits her like a glove. Hope is outgoing to help people and always wants to give people joy in their life. If I had to pick a name that fits me the best, it would probably still be Katherine. Katherine is a really special name to me because both my parents had a grandmother named Katherine.
ReplyDeleteI think Hope is more fitting for her because it is more friendly and joyful rather than Tulip witch is not meant for her.
ReplyDeleteI think Hope is a more fitting name than tulip because it has meaning.
ReplyDeleteThe name Hope is more fitting than Tulip because of the hope she gives to so many people.
ReplyDeleteI think Hope is more fitting than Tulip, because anyone who knows her has more hope in their lives.
ReplyDeleteThe name Hope is more fitting than Tulip because she is always cheering people up and giving them hope.
ReplyDeleteI think Hope is a better fitting name than Tulip, because she is alway giving others hope when they have a lack of it.
ReplyDeleteI think Hope is a more fitting mane than Tulip because hope has more meaning than tulip. She tries to live up to her name by always trying to be happy. She also always tries to give people hope in bad situations. If I had to change my name I couldn't decide because there isn't a name that reflects my personality.
ReplyDeleteHope is a more fitting name than Tulip because the name Tulip compared to Hope is non meaningful.
ReplyDeleteI think hope is more fitting then tulip because she brought hope everywhere she went and tried to brighten everyone's day.
ReplyDeleteHope is a more proper name than Tulip because, no matter what, Hope does not give up.
ReplyDelete"Hope" fits Hope better then Tulip because, Hope just brings happiness, joy, and hope with her everywhere she goes. Hope is always trying to keep her, her friends, and her customers happy. Hope does a good job living up to her name. If I were to change my name, I would probably want to change it to Naomi, meaning, agreeable, in which I try to be as much as possible. Also I just really think its a pretty name.
